On 28 November 2014, students from LincolnFirst-Telford (a division of Lincoln University) paraded down Balclutha’s main street - Clyde Street - towards the Balclutha War Memorial Hall for their graduation ceremony.
Telford’s Director, Charley Lamb welcomed everyone while Chancellor Tom Lambie gave an introductory speech addressing all graduates.
Qualifications awarded included Certificates in Agriculture, Farm Management, Shearing and Wool Handling, Equine, Forestry, Applied Rural Production, Rural Animal Technicians and Diplomas in Rural Business, with around 100 students attending the graduation ceremony.
This year we also welcomed the first round of students who went through LincolnFirst-Telford to complete diplomas which would previously be taught on the Lincoln University, Te Waihora campus.
After almost four years as the Director of Telford, Charley Lamb announced his departure from Telford at the end of this year. Alumni and Development Manager Jo Brady also attended the ceremony as her first official Lincoln graduation ceremony.
