Lincoln University’s Alumni and Development Office records the passing of the following members of the Lincoln University family. 

Peter Tierney, alumnus, of Tauranga. Dip VFM 1953 and Gold Medal for highest marks in Farm Management and Valuation Course. Life Member NZ Institute of Valuers. Died Tauranga, 18 May 2014, aged 84.

Arthur Trotter, alumnus, farmer ‘Roslin’, Woodlands, Southland. DipAg student 1938-39. New Zealand’s oldest and longest serving Justice of the Peace, gazetted JP 1945. Died Invercargill, 3 July 2014, aged 98.

Russell Short,  staff member. Member of the New Zealand Institute of Welding (MNZIW).  Instructor, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Lincoln College. Appointed 1967. Died Christchurch, 1 September 2014, aged 82.

Edna Walker, wife of the late Emeritus Professor of Soil Science, Professor TW Walker. Died, Christchurch, 17 September 2014, aged 98.

Grace Blair, wife of the late Dr Ian Blair, staff member Lincoln College 1936-74, HOD Agricultural Microbiology, author of Life and Work at Canterbury Agricultural College and The Seed They Sowed. Died Christchurch, 28 September 2014, aged 97.
