LUAA Degree Scholarship

Regulations

  1. Purpose
    The Lincoln University Alumni Association Degree Scholarship was established to support a student who is entering their final year of study towards an undergraduate or Honours degree.

  2. Number/Value
    One or more scholarships will be offered annually to a full time student studying at Lincoln University. The annual value of the scholarship shall be $7500 towards tuition fees or living expenses.

  3. Eligibility
    (a) Applicants must be full time students registered in the final year of their undergraduate, or Honours degree.
    (b) Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.

  4. Selection Criteria
    The criteria for selection will be:
    (a) Academic Merit
    (b) Connections with the Alumni Association

    Note: Preference may be given to students who have not previously received financial support from Scholarships during their academic career.

  5. Selection Committee
    The scholarship shall be awarded based on a recommendation of a selection committee which shall comprise:
    • The convenor of the Scholarships Committee, or nominee
    • The Lincoln University Alumni Association President, or nominee, and
    • The Alumni Officer.

    The selection committee may request the applicant to attend an interview as part of the selection process.

    The selection committee may refrain from making an award if it finds no candidate of sufficient merit.

  6. Tenure
    (a) The scholarship is tenable for one year.
    (b) The scholarship is not tenable with any other scholarship, award or bursary.
